Pendant Project
This is one of the pendants I attempted to make. I was going for a starfish design, but I didn't like the underglaze pattern, so I scrapped this pendant when it was bisqueware. It was a freehand star though, so it taught me some things about making freehand shapes uniform.
Face Project
I am very proud of this one. This is the first thing I made, and I went in without a reference photo (oops) and kind of went with the flow. Sculpting a face in clay was easier than I thought, as it was easier to capture the nuances than on paper for me. This project also taught me a lot about anatomy, as it was easier to see what to do when the face wasn't 2D. I am proud of the nose and expression, however I think the area around the eyes could be smoother and more symmetrical.
Pendant Project
I finished the process on this pendant. It is a small ladybug on a leaf, though I think it may be a little large for someone to wear. I am proud of the ladybug, but I think the leaf doesn't really fit my vision of the piece. I also should have glazed the back. This one taught me a lot about sculpting something smaller, though. I would like to make more ladybug related pieces in the future.
Stamp
This is my initial stamp, made to mark my pieces. This one boasts a myriad of mistakes, including the obvious one that I didn't account for the letters being backwards when you press the stamp! I also think I could have made the letters just out instead of being carved in. I didn't glaze this piece because I was not proud, but it taught me to evaluate the function of a piece before creating it (so I don't end up with more backwards things!)
